NETS Head Coach Avery Johnson and former NETS players Darryl Dawkins and Kerry Kittles teamed with McDonald’s New York Metro to host a basketball clinic for about 80 New York and New Jersey students on Sunday, October 23 at 12:30 p.m. at the PNY Center, the NETS’ practice facility in East Rutherford.
The clinic celebrated the achievements of the students, ranging in age from 12-14 years old, who had been selected by their peers, league organizers and coaches for their outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship while participating in youth basketball tournaments this past summer.

“McDonald’s New York Metro is excited to once again be working with NETS Basketball to celebrate the achievements and exemplary leadership of talented future basketball stars throughout the area,” said Tony Scari, president of the New York Tri-State Area McDonald’s Owners and Operators Association. “Through our partnership with the NETS, we are proud to give this dedicated group of young athletes a once in a lifetime experience, which they will remember for many years to come.”

In addition to the basketball instruction and the opportunity to work with NETS Head Coach Avery Johnson, participants received a full NETS/McDonald’s Future Stars uniform and a Certificate of Achievement to recognize their accomplishments.
